Over the past 10 years there has been a 400% increase in the Occult/Gothic culture in our nation. A recent Barna group study revealed that 73% of all American teenagers have dabbled in occult activity at some point. This webinar will explain how this is affecting our culture, how this affected Shawn Patrick's own life. The webinar will give attendees solid facts about the Occult subculture and the impact it is having on the American and Church culture.
Attendees will become aware of what the people within this subculture are feeling, what there struggles are, and what makes them gravitate towards each other. Attendees will, also, learn how to proactively and lovingly engage this fast growing subculture with the Gospel and learn strategies they can use to target this subculture with outreaches.
We will be answering questions like, "What does the Bible say about tattoo's? Is Wicca a sin? How is music and the media being used to shape and influence the thoughts of this generation? To what extent is the Occult involved in the music and media industry? Can and should a Christian be involved in the Gothic subculture? How should we engage this emerging postmodern generation with the Gospel? and What steps should be used in ministering to someone involved and coming out of the Occult?"
The topics will briefly cover and offer information on are broad. They range from the history of rock music, the Gothic movement, fantasy books, video games, tattoo's, the Hip-Hop culture, FRPG's, Astrology, Horror films, Occult symbols, Wicca and the modern day Pagan movement, Transcendental Meditation, and the celebration of Halloween.
